About the Maker

Nene’s Things creates fun, hands‑on plaster paint kits designed to inspire creativity and bring families together. Julie Ehlers, who recently began making them as a way to support causes close to her heart, crafted each kit — with all profits donated to the Elizabeth Collins Foundation and Koats 4 Kids. Her work blends simple, enjoyable crafting with a mission rooted in community, kindness, and giving back.

Julie’s kits offer an easy, engaging activity for kids and adults alike, whether for weekend projects, seasonal décor, or thoughtful handmade gifts. Every piece is assembled with care, offering a creative experience that feels personal, meaningful, and accessible. By joining Waterloo Handmade Market, Julie is excited to share her growing collection with the Cedar Valley and continue supporting local children through her creative efforts.
